Toronto-based Signe Miranda’s Veranda is a five-piece alternative roots-rock band who’s latest release blends together a sound that seamlessly brings you on a journey from post-break-up, alt-pop-punk title track, “September Night” to warm, spacious, alt-country gem, “Like It Was Yesterday”. “September Night” received “Honorable Mention” in the 2010 Song of The Year competition (The Songwriter Foundation) and “She’s Breaking Up” was #48 on NBTMusic Radio’s top 100 songs of 2012, a German internet-based station.

The live band is led by singer-songwriter (and author of the #1 International Best Selling book, “The Song Creation Formula: 7 Easy Steps to Writing Your Song”) Signe Miranda, with lead guitarist Brian Allossery, drummer Shamakah Ali (Al Green, Shakura S’aida), bassist Rob Brown (Sam Moore, Angelica DiCastro) and keyboardist Peter Nunn (Honeymoon Suite, Andy Kim).  They’re currently recording their follow-up album, Heart Wave, with Jeremy Trites at Rouge Valley Studios, with guest musicians, including Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo). The first single, “Crash” is available on their website.

“Signe Miranda nails it, the anarchy of human relationships, with great words, great melodies, and great concepts.”

Kat Goldman - Singer-Songwriter

“Fantastic acoustic indie folk pop… Signe’s work is truly stunning… This music has a very ‘Juno-esque’ quality but in a completely new way- unique to Signe Miranda.”

HD Fest - Best of HD Fest Blog

“Great Album, a true inspiration”

Paul van Kuik - Radio 0162, Netherlands

“At once sweetly compelling and creepily obsessive, the smartly-observed love songs on Signe Miranda’s solo debut rip apart the contradictory and heartbreaking “push-pull” dynamic of most modern relationships. When she sings, ‘Let me be the one you want/’Cos I don’t want you to leave me alone’ on Solar Eclipse, it speaks to those for whom loneliness is the big, scary monster under the bed. If you’re thinking about breaking up an intense, long-term relationship, listening to this album should be your first step. Depending on your perspective, it will either scare you back into your warm cocoon, fearful of dying alone, or cause you to run far away, fearful of being smothered by clingy neediness. Either way, you’ll feel unsure for the rest of your life.”
