LIVE EVENTS INTERN

Canada’s Music Incubator and Coalition Music are looking for a Summer/Fall Intern who is enthusiastic about organizing events to help the team in achieving better business opportunities for the ongoing virtual and physical events across Canada. The Live Events division is the result of a collaborative relationship between Coalition Music and the national not-for-profit, Canada’s Music Incubator. What started as a meeting of the minds, and shared resources to create paid performance opportunities for emerging artists has grown into a full-service venture with multiple corporate, private and governmental clients. We are currently looking for a motivated Live Events Intern focusing on the marketing, communication, and execution of online, in-person, and hybrid events to join our team.

The successful candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who loves to keep everyone and everything organized. They are a quick learner who is energized by a fluid and fast-paced work environment. A professional demeanor, an eye for detail and accuracy, excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills with an advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs, and Canva are critical.

This position reports to the Coordinator of Live Events and requires virtual regular office hours 3-4 days a week and the hours are 10 AM to 6 PM, with some flexibility, with potential for virtual and physical event attendance outside of office hours. This is a five-month position, starting immediately, and ending November 30th 2021.

Responsibilities

  • Research and A&R

  • Creating sponsorship decks, creating marketing materials/promotional mailing/invitation maintenance and coordination

  • Event program planning, execution, task management, partner and artist relations, administrative, upkeep and event updates, communications liaison, and scheduling

  • Help select, inspect and coordinate with various venue hosts

  • Setting, communicating, and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project

  • Manage logistics, operations, schedules, and production coordination

  • Oversee overall project execution, delivering events on time and troubleshooting

  • Ensuring excellent partner and artist services, relations, and quality delivery requirements

Skills and Assets

  • Being enthusiastic about corporate events

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Project Management, Coordination and teamwork

  • Background in graphic design

  • Full understanding of social media in event settings

  • Experience with Squarespace, Canva and Photoshop

  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new skills, systems, and processes

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail

Requirements

  • A High School diploma is required

  • A College/University Degree or working towards Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, Project Management or a related field

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Drive)

  • 25-30% travel required
