Financial Literacy for the Music Industry is headed to five more cities across Canada!

CMI is bringing Financial Literacy for the Music Industry professional development program to five new markets across Canada. The purpose of this initiative is to fill a longstanding gap in practical, understandable, and accessible financial mentorship specific to the music industry.

The Financial Literacy for the Music Industry program is FREE and is open for up to 20 musicians and music industry professionals in each market, here’s where we are headed:

Kingston: @ Broom Theatre | May 27 & 28 | APPLY HERE
St. John’s: @ Hurricane Music | May 30 & 31 | APPLY HERE
Whitehorse: @ YUKONSTRUCT (Northwestel Event Space) | June 3 & 4 | APPLY HERE
Kawartha Lakes: @ The academy Theatre| June 16 & 17 | APPLY HERE
Vancouver: @ Citystudio Vancouver | June 25 & 26 | APPLY HERE

Eligible attendees must be 18 years of age or older, actively working in the music industry, and available for both days of the program (10am-4pm). You will be contacted once applications close if you are invited to be part of the program. Applications will close 10 days before the program start date.

Developed in collaboration with Sprackman Terrence, one of Canada’s leading entertainment business management and accounting firms, this program covers key topics such as business structures, foundational tax concepts, budgeting, industry-focused eligible business expenses, financial planning, risk management, royalties and more. All attendees will have access to ongoing mentorship from CMI post-program.

This initiative is made possible nationally by the generous support of RBC. The Kingston workshop is also supported by Ontario Creates.
