CMI Partners with City of Barrie to Deliver Artist Bootcamp
Over the weekend of February 23-24, 2019, CMI travelled to Barrie, ON for the delivery of a customized two-day bootcamp with a local group of artists in partnership with The City of Barrie.
We worked closely with 13 artists from the region to explore a wide range of topics from
business registration, income tax and expenses, marketing, social media, and streaming and more. In addition, each artist received 40 minutes of individual one-on-one mentorship time with our team.
CMI regularly delivers these types of bootcamps across Canada to help develop local artists and assist our partners achieve regional infrastructural growth.
“As the City of Barrie implements recommendations from the music strategy Simcoe County: A Natural Playground for Music¸ we look to program partners such as Canada’s Music Incubator to provide skills development and training by qualified and experienced industry professionals in an effort to build capacity for Barrie’s music sector.” says Amanda Dyke, Culture Officer, Creative Economy Department, City of Barrie. “We see partnerships such as this one as being essential to our efforts to drive talent attraction and foster entrepreneurship for our community.”
