CMI Launches Financial Literacy for the Music Industry

CMI is introducing the Financial Literacy for the Music Industry program across Canada to fill a longstanding gap in practical, understandable, and accessible financial mentorship specific to the music industry.

The program is FREE and is open for up to 20 musicians and music industry professionals per session.

Eligible participants must:

– Be 18 years of age or older
– Be an active musician (Artist, Producer, Songwriter) or music industry professional (Manager, Promoter, Agent, Presenter etc) working in the music industry
– Be available for the full length of the program

Developed in collaboration with Sprackman Terrence, one of Canada’s leading entertainment business management and accounting firms, this program covers key topics such as business structures, foundational tax concepts, budgeting, industry-focused eligible business expenses, financial planning, risk management, royalties and more. This program is a mix of full group and 1-on-1 training, and all attendees will have access to ongoing mentorship from CMI.

This initiative is made possible nationally by the generous support of RBC, with provincial support from Ontario Creates.
